Certification Questions
How old do you have to be to get certified? You must be at least 10 years old. You should also be comfortable in the water and able to pay close attention to the instructor’s directions. Everyone who gets a PADI Open Water certification card must read the same book, take the same tests and do the same skills, so give yourself plenty of time to study.
How long does it take to get certified? Most of our group classes are done over two weekends. The first weekend is knowledge development and pool work. The second weekend is the open water certification trip. In order to finish all the work the first weekend, our students take their books home to study and videos home to watch. Students must bring their completed knowledge reviews to class Friday night.
